The importance of having level floors

Uneven flooring is not just an aesthetic problem: it can affect the durability of coverings, cause hollow sounds, uneven joints, water accumulation, deformations, or even poor hygrothermal conditions. To ensure durable, safe flooring with a professional finish, it is essential to use self-leveling mortars that ensure a perfectly flat base.

What are the benefits of leveling the ground properly?

By properly leveling the support with Pavilevel:

  • Hollow sounds under tiles or peeling coatings are avoided.
  • Las juntas quedan uniformes, mejorando la estética.
  • The risk of water accumulation in low-lying areas is reduced, providing protection against moisture.
  • Improves load and stress distribution, extending the service life of the pavement.
  • It facilitates the installation of sensitive flooring, such as parquet, vinyl, or technical flooring.

Pavilevel range: versions & uses

At Colcret, we have developed the Pavilevel range, which consists of the following products: Pavilevel 50, Pavilevel 50 R, Pavilevel Plan, and Pavilevel Plan Fibrado. Below, we explain the characteristics of each product, when to use it, and how to apply it correctly.

Pavilevel 50: reliable leveling on screeds

Recommended for new builds or renovations where significant unevenness needs to be corrected and a uniform surface achieved before installing the final flooring.

Pavilevel 50 R: speed in thin layers

When time is of the essence, Pavilevel 50 R is the best option. This is the quick-drying, thin-layer version of Pavilevel, ideal for renovations with tight deadlines or spaces that need to be back in use quickly.

Su aplicación permite nivelar soportes sin necesidad de grandes espesores, acelerando el proceso de obra sin comprometer la calidad del resultado final.

Pavilevel Plan: fine, uniform finish

For projects requiring a smooth, flawless surface prior to laying the flooring, Pavilevel Plan is the solution. This self-leveling screed provides a perfectly even base, facilitating the installation of delicate flooring and ensuring a flawless finish.

It is particularly useful in interior renovations and on surfaces with minor irregularities, where a fine finish makes all the difference.

Pavilevel Fiber Plan: extra resistance against cracks

This product is designed for large surfaces, floors with expansion joints, or substrates that require additional strength without compromising on a uniform, smooth finish.

How to apply it correctly

To ensure optimal results, follow these steps:

  1. Support preparation
    • Clean off dust, grease, or other debris that may prevent adhesion.
    • Check that the floor slab is structurally sound (large cracks, joints, movement).
    • On highly absorbent substrates, apply a suitable primer to improve adhesion.
  2. Choosing the right product
    • If you need speed → Pavilevel 50 R.
    • If there is a risk of cracks or slight movements → Pavilevel Fiber Plan.
    • For fine finishes on existing surfaces → Pavilevel Plan.
    • For leveling screeds with moderate thickness and with the possibility of loading after curing → Pavilevel 50.
  3. Product mixing
    • Follow the water/powder mixing ratios indicated by Colcret.
    • Mix until you get a smooth, lump-free batter.
    • Avoid adding too much water so as not to lose performance.
  4. Application
    • Pour into the highest area and spread toward the lower areas.
    • Use a notched trowel or straight edge, depending on the thickness.
    • In Fiber Plan, ensure that the fibers are well distributed, avoiding accumulations.
  5. Curing and waiting times
    • Respect the setting and hardening times before walking on or laying the covering.
    • In humid or low-temperature environments, ensure that conditions are optimal for drying.
  6. Completion and follow-up
    • Check that there are no microcracks and that the surface is smooth and even.
    • Verify flatness according to applicable regulations or standards.
    • In cases of exposure to water or moisture, check the compatibility of the final coating with the environmental conditions.

Having a properly leveled floor is not a luxury, but an essential foundation for any quality flooring installation. With the products in the Pavilevel range, Colcret offers solutions tailored to different needs: speed, resistance, thickness, or use with radiant floors, among others.

If you are undertaking construction, repair, or renovation work, assess the condition of your subfloor and its intended use. This will enable you to choose the most suitable Pavilevel.
